Cebu

For our first trip out of Manila, we headed south in October to Cebu. It was a quick two-day, one-night jaunt, so we splurged and stayed at the Shangri-La Resort on Mactan Island there, never leaving the premises. We tend to like to move around a lot when we travel, but with the grind of adjustment bearing down on us, we wanted something nice and easy.

The resort had everything we needed to take ourselves away for a quick weekend, including a huge pool with a waterslide, which Eliana easily conquered:

The kids enjoyed the playroom equipped with dryer (but no less fun) slides:



The resort was also attached to a beautiful private beach:



Eliana went snorkeling right off the beach, seeing parrotfish, clownfish and other colorful aquatic life:
